Nestled at the base of Volcan de San Pedro, above the shores of Lake Atitlan, sits the quaint little village of Chacaya. This picturesque village dates to pre-Columbian times. With its mild climate and cloud forest above, it's easy to see why the people of Chacaya have been here for generations. The rich volcanic soil combined with the daily afternoon mist of the cloud forest and its high elevation give this area the perfect conditions to produce some of the best coffee in the world.
This coffee is sourced directly from the independent co-op farmers to ensure that the sustainability of this beautiful place and its 130 coffee producing families carries on for generations to come.
We hope you enjoy this very special coffee and can share the story of this very special village in Guatemala -- The land of eternal spring.
