This Coffee's Story:

Our Ethiopia Amaro Gaayo Natural is grown in the Amaro Mountains, a small range separating the communities of Amaro on the eastern slopes from Nechisar National Park and the lowland tribal areas of Arba Minch in southwest Ethiopia. This area is full with coffee varieties, a light population, waterfalls and highland bamboo forests. This exceptional coffee is exported through Ethiopia's only female miller/exporter, an exceptional woman. Asnakech Thomas is one of the most inspiring figures in Ethiopian coffee today. Native to the Amaro region, Asnakech decided in 2005 to return to her homeland to improve coffee quality at her mill and in local communities. Her coffee is scrupulously harvested, sorted, and milled at her facilities, where she has remarkable control.  The coffees are natural processed where the cherries are dried on raised beds. She is one of the few people to travel weekly between Addis and the coffee areas. 

These coffees are harvested between October and February, then dried on raised beds. After drying, they are de-pulped on machines that are eco-friendly, using less water than other mills.
